Kuchipudi Dance (South Indian classical dance) Teacher
Kuchipudi is one of the nine classical Dance forms of India. Born in the 17th century during the Bhakthi movement, Kuchipudi evolved as a religious art rooting back to the age-old Hindu Sanskrit text ‘Natya Shastra’. It connects traditionally with temples, spiritual faiths and travelling bards. The form is an amalgamation of street theater, court and temple dances of the Devadasi or dancing girls’ . Today Kuchipudi Is performed in both drama and solo forms.
