MARTIN LUTHER KING, Jr. DAY OF DANCE 2019 Legends, Legacy and Lineage: Blacks in Dance History

The annual CDA Martin Luther King Day of Dance honors the teachings and legacy of Dr. King as well at the abundant African American contributions to the world of dance. With so much to celebrate the theme and focus of the event changes each year but includes classes in a variety of dance genres, video presentations, informal performances, lectures and panel discussions about the legacy and lineage of blacks in dance history.

The MLK Day of Dance focuses on dance classes in many forms – ballet, modern dance, hip hop and African dance, improvisation among other styles. The event also focuses on elements of collaboration, history and educating the participants on the experiences of people of color in the dance world.

CDA members, and students of member schools: $25

Non-members: $35

Financial assistance will be available

Please bring your own lunch.

Registration 8:30-9am, Classes 9:15-3pm.
