CDA 2019 Awards

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS!

Deadline July 8, 2019

We are accepting nominations for the Distinguished Achievement in Dance Award and the Jill Henderson Award for Outstanding Services and Dedication to the Dance Community as a Volunteer. Award recipients will be honored during CDA’s annual awards ceremony in October.

The Distinguished Achievement in Dance Award recognizes those individuals who have made outstanding and long-lasting contributions to the Connecticut dance community.

Nominees may include dancers and dance teachers; choreographers and directors; dance presenters and organizers; set, costume and lighting designers; dance video artists and dance writers. Nominees should possess at least two decades’ experience in their field of expertise, with five or more years sharing their legacy of work to the benefit of the Connecticut dance community.  Their work will also have had a transformative effect on audiences; individual dancers (through teaching or promoting); dance ensembles (as artistic, executive or technical director); the public (through written reviews or articles); and the prosperity of the Connecticut dance scene (through advocacy or fundraising).

The Jill Henderson Award for Outstanding Services & Dedication to the Dance Community as a Volunteer is given annually to an individual who has made significant contributions to the Connecticut dance community through their time, talents and service. Efforts by a nominee can be for one or more dance organizations in Connecticut which directly align with CDA’s mission of increasing the public’s awareness of dance in all its forms and serving the needs of the statewide dance community.
